The cause
There is fat under the eyes to begin with, held in place by a thin membrane (the orbital septum).
With age, this membrane and the ligaments around it weaken, so the fat is pushed forward — creating a bulge and a shadow below it.
Meanwhile, the ligament attached to the bone stays put, so the groove between the bulging fat and the ligament (the tear trough) deepens. That's why it isn't just about removing fat — the membrane, ligaments and skin all need to be looked at together.

Options
For under-eye fat, these were the choices. But there was a gap: under-eyes where surgery feels like too much, yet creams and fillers don't help.

When the laser light hits the diamond particles, the area around each particle expands in an instant and tiny bubbles burst. That force becomes the shock wave. Here it is in the manufacturer's test footage.

If the fat under your eyes bulges only slightly, it can be treated without an incision. If the bulge is large, surgery may suit you better — we'll tell you honestly at your consultation.
It's done without anesthesia. You may feel brief sensations over the patch, and how much you feel varies by person.
About 5 minutes from applying the patch to the laser (3–5 minutes per the manufacturer). Including the assessment, cleansing and soothing, the whole visit fits in under an hour.
Most people can go about their day, but there may be some redness or swelling.
Pinpoint bleeding may be visible for a few days. If you have an important event or photos planned, let us know in advance.
The manufacturer recommends at least 3 sessions, 3 weeks apart. After the first, you'll notice a change as the puffiness goes down, and changes in the membrane and skin continue as sessions add up. Your doctor will advise the exact number after seeing your under-eyes, and can help plan sessions around your trips to Seoul.
According to the manufacturer, one session's effect lasts about 3–4 months, and this varies by person. Maintenance is planned together at your consultation.
The manufacturer also describes using it after repositioning surgery to care for under-eye firmness and fine lines. It depends on your post-surgery condition, so we check at your consultation.
A standard laser turns light into heat and works on the skin's surface layers. With Belluti, the patch turns light into a shock wave that travels to the deeper membrane, ligaments and fat layer without burning the surface.
Repositioning surgery involves an incision to move the fat. Belluti reaches the membrane, ligaments and fat layer with a patch and laser shock waves, without an incision. If the bulge is large, surgery may be the better fit, and we'll tell you honestly at your consultation.
It's for dark circles caused by fat pushed forward and casting a shadow. Brown pigment and blue vascular types have different causes, so we recommend treatment suited to them.
If a sunken groove is the main cause, filler or similar may come first. Under-eyes with both bulging fat and hollowness are planned together.
It depends on the area and extent. Message us and we'll let you know.
